Overview

CRK siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the **CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK)** gene. CRK is an adapter protein that plays a pivotal role in signal transduction pathways regulating cell adhesion, migration, and invasion. In glioblastoma, elevated levels of CRK and its paralog CRKL are associated with poor prognosis and increased tumor invasiveness. Research from the **Children's Mercy Research Institute** has shown that transient or stable knockdown of CRK using siRNA or shRNA inhibits the migration and invasion of glioblastoma cell lines such as LN-229 and U-118MG. While CRKL knockdown often shows more pronounced effects on cell proliferation and adhesion, the combined knockdown of both CRK and CRKL results in a complete inhibition of invasive properties, suggesting they are critical therapeutic targets for preventing the diffuse spread of glioblastoma into surrounding brain tissue.
