Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**CRMD004** was a preclinical CorMedix catheter-lock product candidate based on licensed Polaschegg technology for a thixotropic antimicrobial gel formulation. It was intended to prevent catheter-related bloodstream infections by serving as a gel lock within an indwelling catheter. CorMedix terminated its license to the underlying technology in November 2015, effective January 2016, citing the narrow patent scope, limited market potential, and the substantial investment required to reinforce the patent estate. The candidate was therefore not advanced to clinical development or commercialization.
