Overview

CRO-67 is a novel small molecule antineoplastic drug developed by Noxopharm in collaboration with the University of New South Wales. It is designed as a dual-cell therapy for pancreatic cancer, uniquely targeting both pancreatic tumor cells and the surrounding barrier cells (cancer-associated fibroblasts or CAFs) that protect tumors from conventional therapies. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that CRO-67 significantly reduces tumor growth, decreases the number of barrier cells, inhibits metastasis, and alters collagen structures within the tumor microenvironment. This dual action may enhance the effectiveness of other treatments and addresses an unmet need in pancreatic cancer therapy due to its poor survival rates and resistance to standard drugs. The mechanism of action remains undefined but is under further investigation[1][3][5][6][7][10].
