Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cromagen (also known as Cromagen A.F.) is an approved fixed-dose combination of three essential B-complex vitamins: folic acid (vitamin B9), pyridoxine (vitamin B6), and cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12). Developed by Valdecasas, it is marketed in Mexico for the correction of vitamin deficiencies and as an auxiliary treatment to lower homocysteine levels in patients with nutritional hyperhomocysteinemia. Folic acid, pyridoxine, and cyanocobalamin play critical roles in cellular metabolism, DNA synthesis, and red blood cell production. Together, they act synergistically to facilitate the conversion of homocysteine to methionine, thereby reducing cardiovascular and neurological risks associated with elevated homocysteine levels.
