Overview

This investigational triple-combination therapy is being evaluated for the treatment of immune-refractory triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). It comprises cromolyn sodium, a mast cell stabilizer; TQB2102, a HER2-directed antibody-drug conjugate (ADC); and penpulimab (also referred to as panpulimab), a monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor. The rationale for this combination, studied in the Phase II RECLAIM trial by Fudan University, is to overcome resistance to immunotherapy. Cromolyn is hypothesized to mobilize mast cell-mediated T-cell immunity, potentially sensitizing the tumor microenvironment to PD-1 blockade, while TQB2102 provides targeted delivery of a cytotoxic payload to HER2-expressing cells within the TNBC population.
