MaiLi-E is an injectable dermal filler composed of cross-linked sodium hyaluronate gel and lidocaine. It is primarily used for soft tissue augmentation, specifically for the correction of mild to moderate-severe chin retrusion. The cross-linked hyaluronic acid serves as a biocompatible, viscoelastic polymer that provides immediate mechanical volumization and structural support within the extracellular matrix of the subdermal or deep tissue layers. Lidocaine is incorporated into the formulation as a local anesthetic to alleviate pain associated with the injection process. The product is being developed and evaluated in clinical trials by Sinclair Pharmaceuticals and Hangzhou Zhongmei HuaDong Pharmaceutical, often in collaboration with academic institutions like the Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
