Overview

Crotedumab (REGN1193) is a fully human IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits the glucagon receptor (GCGR). It was developed for the treatment of diabetes, specifically type 2 diabetes mellitus. By antagonizing GCGR, crotedumab blocks glucagon signaling, which plays a key role in glucose metabolism. The drug was developed by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and reached phase 1 clinical trials before its development was discontinued[1][2][3][4][5][7][8].
