Overview

CRX is a preclinical peptide drug candidate developed by Bionor Immuno (Bionor Holding AS) for the treatment of HIV infection. It is designed to function as an entry inhibitor by targeting both the CCR5 and CXCR4 co-receptors on CD4+ cells. By blocking the interaction between these co-receptors and the HIV envelope glycoprotein gp120 V3 loop, CRX aims to prevent the virus from entering host cells. CRX is intended to be used as part of a combination therapeutic approach, alongside Bionor's other candidates Vacc-4x and Vacc-C5, to achieve a functional cure for HIV by reducing viral reservoirs and maintaining viral load control without continuous antiretroviral therapy.
