Overview
CRx-170 is a novel synergistic combination drug candidate developed by CombinatoRx, Incorporated, comprising low-dose budesonide and low-dose nortriptyline. Discovered using the proprietary combination High Throughput Screening (cHTS) technology, the drug was designed as an orally available syncretic therapy to selectively amplify the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects of budesonide while avoiding the side effects typically associated with higher steroid doses. CRx-170 was primarily investigated for the treatment of asthma and other immuno-inflammatory diseases, reaching Phase 2 clinical development before the program was discontinued following corporate transitions at CombinatoRx.
