Cryoprecipitate-reduced plasma is a blood product derived from fresh frozen plasma (FFP) after the cryoprecipitate, which is rich in coagulation factors such as Factor VIII, fibrinogen, von Willebrand factor (vWF), and Factor XIII, has been removed. This process results in a plasma product that is deficient in these specific clotting factors but retains a well-preserved level of ADAMTS13, the von Willebrand factor cleaving enzyme. Its primary therapeutic application is as a replacement fluid in therapeutic plasma exchange for patients with Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP), where the reduction of large vWF multimers is beneficial.
