Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cryosim-1 is a synthetic, selective agonist of the transient receptor potential melastatin 8 (TRPM8) channel, developed as a topical treatment for pruritic skin conditions. By activating TRPM8 channels in sensory neurons, it induces a cooling sensation and inhibits itch transmission. Clinical trials have demonstrated its efficacy and safety in reducing pruritus intensity and improving sleep quality in patients with prurigo nodularis (PN), chronic urticaria, eczema, and localized scalp pruritus. The drug provides rapid relief—sometimes within 10 minutes—and its anti-pruritic effect can last over two hours after application. No significant adverse reactions have been reported in clinical studies[2][3][6][7][9].
