Overview

**CS-2036** is a recombinant trivalent poliomyelitis vaccine developed by CanSino Biologics, utilizing a non-infectious virus-like particle (VLP) approach based on Sf-RVN cells to mimic poliovirus structures without live virus, enhancing safety and immunogenicity profiles. It targets prevention of poliomyelitis caused by poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3, aligning with WHO post-eradication strategies for safer vaccine alternatives. The vaccine is administered to infants and toddlers, with a Phase I/II trial initiated in Indonesia assessing safety and immunogenicity in specific age groups.[3][5][10]
