CS1 CAR T is a type of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Mustang Bio in collaboration with City of Hope. It is designed to target CS1 (also known as SLAMF7, CD319, or CRACC), a protein highly expressed on multiple myeloma cells. The therapy involves engineering a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that recognizes and binds to CS1 on cancer cells, leading to their destruction. This immunotherapy aims to provide a novel treatment option for patients with multiple myeloma, particularly those with relapsed or refractory disease.
