CS1 SIR-T is an investigational cell therapy being developed by Angeles Therapeutics for the treatment of multiple myeloma. The therapy utilizes the company's proprietary Synthetic Immune Receptor (SIR) technology to engineer T-cells that target CS1 (also known as SLAMF7), a cell surface protein highly expressed on malignant plasma cells. Unlike traditional Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cells, SIR-T cells are designed to mimic the natural T-cell receptor (TCR) complex by integrating with the endogenous CD3 signaling machinery. This architecture is intended to provide a more regulated and physiological T-cell activation, which may enhance the persistence and anti-tumor activity of the cells while potentially reducing the risk of severe toxicities such as cytokine release syndrome (CRS). The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
