CS12

CS12 is an investigational small-molecule triple agonist developed by Cascade Pharmaceuticals that targets the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP1R), the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR), and the glucagon receptor (GCGR). This multi-receptor approach is designed to synergistically improve glycemic control, reduce body weight, and enhance metabolic health by combining the insulinotropic and anorexigenic effects of GLP-1 and GIP with the energy expenditure-increasing properties of glucagon. As a small molecule, CS12 is potentially suitable for oral administration, offering a differentiated alternative to injectable peptide-based therapies. It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
