Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CS78425 is a preclinical-stage small molecule URAT1 inhibitor being developed by Chipscreen NewWay (a subsidiary of Shenzhen Chipscreen Biosciences) for the treatment of gout and hyperuricemia. URAT1 (SLC22A12) is a key transporter protein in the renal proximal tubule responsible for the reabsorption of filtered urate from the urine back into the blood. By inhibiting URAT1, CS78425 promotes the renal excretion of uric acid, thereby lowering serum uric acid levels. This mechanism is intended to address the underlying hyperuricemia that leads to the formation of urate crystals and the subsequent inflammatory flares characteristic of gout.
