Overview
CSCC_ASC is an allogeneic adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell (ASC) therapy developed by the Copenhagen Stem Cell Centre (CSCC) at Rigshospitalet. These cells are harvested from the adipose tissue of healthy adult donors and expanded for therapeutic use. CSCC_ASC exerts its effects through immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative mechanisms, including the secretion of paracrine factors that reduce tissue fibrosis and promote healing. The therapy is primarily investigated for the treatment of radiation-induced hyposalivation and xerostomia in head and neck cancer survivors, Sjögren's syndrome-related dry eye and dry mouth, and severe respiratory complications associated with COVID-19 and lung transplantation.
