CSCC_ASCs is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy consisting of adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ASCs) developed by the Cardiology Stem Cell Centre (CSCC) at Rigshospitalet, University Hospital of Copenhagen. The product is manufactured from healthy donor abdominal adipose tissue, expanded in bioreactors, and cryopreserved under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) conditions. CSCC_ASCs are designed to treat severe respiratory distress in COVID-19 patients by modulating the excessive immune response and cytokine storm associated with the disease. The therapy leverages the immunomodulatory and regenerative properties of mesenchymal stromal cells to reduce lung inflammation and promote tissue repair. Beyond COVID-19, CSCC_ASCs have been evaluated for applications in ischemic heart failure and lung transplantation.
