Overview
CSJ148 is a combination of two human monoclonal antibodies, LJP538 and LJP539, developed for the prevention and treatment of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection. Each antibody targets essential viral glycoproteins required for HCMV infectivity and spread. Specifically, LJP538 binds to glycoprotein B (gB), while LJP539 targets the pentameric complex composed of glycoproteins gH, gL, UL128, UL130, and UL131. By binding these targets, CSJ148 neutralizes HCMV by blocking both initial infection and cell-to-cell viral spread. The drug was investigated primarily as prophylaxis in immunocompromised patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation[1][3][5][6].
