Overview

**CSL-111** is an investigational, intravenously infused reconstituted high-density lipoprotein particle developed by CSL. It contains human plasma-derived apolipoprotein A-I combined with soybean phosphatidylcholine and is designed to transiently augment functional HDL activity, promote cholesterol mobilization from atherosclerotic plaque, and improve plaque characteristics after acute coronary syndrome. In the Phase 2 ERASE trial, CSL-111 did not significantly reduce the primary IVUS measure of atheroma-volume change versus placebo, although secondary plaque-characterization and angiographic measures favored treatment. The 80 mg/kg arm was stopped early because of liver-function-test abnormalities, and the CSL-111 development program was subsequently not pursued.
