CSL siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to target and knock down the expression of CSL (also known as RBPJ or CBF1), a key DNA-binding transcription factor and downstream effector of the canonical Notch signaling pathway. In the absence of Notch activation, CSL acts as a transcriptional repressor; upon Notch receptor cleavage, the Notch intracellular domain (NICD) translocates to the nucleus and binds to CSL, converting it into a transcriptional activator that drives the expression of target genes such as Hes and Hey. CSL siRNA is primarily used as a research-use-only (RUO) laboratory tool to investigate the role of canonical Notch signaling in various biological processes, including cell proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis in cancer models.
