Overview

CSL301 is a monoclonal antibody designed to inhibit alpha-2-antiplasmin (α2AP), a primary physiological inhibitor of the fibrinolytic system. By binding to and neutralizing α2AP, CSL301 enhances the body's endogenous ability to dissolve blood clots (fibrinolysis) and improves microvascular perfusion. Developed by CSL (including the CSL Vifor business unit), the therapeutic is being investigated for conditions characterized by pathological thrombosis or impaired blood flow. Primary clinical development has focused on severe pre-eclampsia (sPE), where it aims to address microvascular thrombosis and improve placental perfusion, as well as acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and submassive pulmonary embolism (sPE), where it acts as a thrombolytic agent to restore blood flow.
