Developed through a strategic collaboration between Meiji Seika Pharma and CSL Behring, the drug is designed for the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic diseases. By targeting Factor XIa, CSL402 aims to decouple pathological thrombosis from physiological hemostasis, potentially offering a safer anticoagulant profile with a significantly lower risk of bleeding compared to traditional therapies such as warfarin or direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) that target Factor Xa or thrombin.
