Overview

CSL689 is a recombinant fusion protein that links activated human coagulation factor VIIa (FVIIa) with human albumin (rVIIa-FP). This design extends the half-life of FVIIa in circulation. CSL689 acts as a tissue factor inhibitor and is intended for intravenous infusion to treat bleeding episodes, particularly in patients with hemophilia A or congenital factor VII deficiency. The drug was developed by CSL Behring and has reached Phase 3 clinical trials for indications including hemorrhage and hemophilia A[1][2][3][4][7].
