Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CssBA is a recombinant protein vaccine candidate designed to prevent infection by enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC), specifically targeting the CS6 colonization factor. It is a heterodimeric fusion protein composed of components derived from the ETEC CS6 subunits CssA and CssB. The vaccine elicits strong IgG and IgA anti-CS6 antibody responses in preclinical models and has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety and immunogenicity when administered intramuscularly or intradermally, with or without adjuvant (such as dmLT). The lead developer is PATH Vaccine Solutions.
