CST-101

CST-101 is an investigational small molecule adrenergic agonist developed by CuraSen Therapeutics for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, primarily Parkinson's disease. It is designed to target and activate adrenoceptors (specifically $\beta_2$-adrenoceptors) in the brain to compensate for the early loss of noradrenergic neurons in the locus coeruleus, a common feature of neurodegeneration. By restoring adrenergic signaling, CST-101 aims to alleviate both cognitive and motor symptoms. The compound has completed Phase 1 clinical evaluation in healthy volunteers and Parkinson's patients, where it was assessed for safety, tolerability, and its impact on central nervous system biomarkers, and is currently positioned for Phase 2 development.
