Overview

CSX1004 is a fully human monoclonal antibody designed for the treatment and prevention of fentanyl-related drug overdoses. Developed by Cessation Therapeutics using OmniAb's transgenic rat platform (OmniRat), the antibody acts as a high-affinity sequestering agent in the bloodstream. By binding specifically to fentanyl and its potent analogs, CSX1004 prevents these synthetic opioids from crossing the blood-brain barrier and interacting with mu-opioid receptors in the central nervous system. This mechanism is intended to reverse respiratory depression and provide a prolonged period of protection against re-intoxication, addressing the limitations of short-acting antagonists like naloxone in the context of long-lasting synthetic opioids.

Other names
anti-fentanyl monoclonal antibody
