Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**CT-187MDR** is a novel therapeutic nanoparticle developed by Chikujee Therapeutics using their proprietary Aayush BioSphere platform (COFTA) and NanoBindiTM technology. It encapsulates **paclitaxel**, a microtubule-stabilizing chemotherapeutic agent approved for breast, prostate, and lung cancers, within a biocompatible and biodegradable silica hybrid biofunctional fabric that provides stealth properties, targeting capabilities, and controlled release. The nanoparticle is engineered with a targeting ligand specific to a multidrug-resistant ovarian cancer membrane antigen—a cell surface marker abundantly expressed on ovarian cancer cells and neovasculature of solid tumors—enabling selective delivery to overcome multidrug resistance while minimizing systemic toxicity.[1]
