**CT-2584** is an investigational small molecule antineoplastic agent developed for the treatment of advanced cancers such as prostate cancer and soft-tissue sarcoma. It acts as a modulator of lipid metabolism and phosphatidic acid signaling in tumor cells. Mechanistically, CT‑2584 inhibits CTP:choline-phosphate cytidylyltransferase (PCYT1B), disrupting phospholipid biosynthesis by diverting metabolic flow from phosphatidylcholine to phosphatidylinositol. This leads to altered membrane integrity—especially in mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum—resulting in cytotoxicity specific to neoplastic cells while sparing normal bone marrow cells. Preclinical studies showed activity against a broad range of tumor cell lines including multidrug-resistant types. In clinical trials (Phase I/II), it was administered intravenously and demonstrated disease stabilization in some patients with advanced or chemotherapy-resistant cancers[1][2][5][6][9].
