Overview

CT-262 is a first-in-class investigational drug developed by Cairn Therapeutics, Inc. It was invented at Scripps Research Institute and is designed as a highly potent DNA alkylating agent that preferentially activates in cancer cells. This mechanism of action aims to provide dramatic efficacy across a broad range of solid and hematological tumors. Preclinical studies have indicated that CT-262 offers significantly better tolerability compared to other cytotoxic agents, exhibiting low toxicity and reduced myelosuppression, which are common limitations of traditional chemotherapy. Furthermore, it is reported not to be subject to conventional mechanisms of resistance, suggesting its potential as a compelling replacement in various cancer treatment regimens.
