Overview

CT-45099 is a small molecule tubulin inhibitor that was originally developed by CTI BioPharma Corp. (formerly Cell Therapeutics, Inc.) for the treatment of various neoplasms. As an anti-cancer agent, it works by binding to tubulin, a structural protein essential for the formation of microtubules during cell division. By inhibiting tubulin polymerization or stability, CT-45099 induces cell cycle arrest and subsequent apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. Although it was explored as a potential oncology therapeutic, its development has been discontinued globally.
