Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**CT-L02** is Celltrion's investigational oral fixed-dose combination tablet of **alogliptin** and **empagliflozin** for type 2 diabetes mellitus. Alogliptin selectively inhibits dipeptidyl peptidase-4, increasing endogenous incretin activity and supporting glucose-dependent insulin secretion, while empagliflozin inhibits renal sodium/glucose cotransporter 2 to reduce glucose reabsorption and increase urinary glucose excretion. A Phase 1 crossover study compared the pharmacokinetics and safety of CT-L02 with co-administration of its individual alogliptin and empagliflozin components, and a Phase 3 study has evaluated the program in adults with inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes receiving metformin and alogliptin.
