Overview

**CT-P38** is an investigational anti-MERS therapeutic monoclonal antibody developed by Celltrion for treatment and potential prevention of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus infection. Publicly available company and patent materials indicate it is a neutralizing antibody directed against the MERS-CoV spike protein, with intended antiviral activity mediated by binding the viral surface spike and blocking viral entry into host cells. Celltrion reported that development began in 2015, that the program received Korean government support in 2020 with plans for preclinical work and Phase 1 preparation through 2022, and third-party pipeline databases later listed the asset as discontinued at the preclinical stage. The program appears to have been positioned as an infectious-disease emergency preparedness antibody rather than a commercialized product.
