Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CT-P39 is a biosimilar of omalizumab, developed by Celltrion. It is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets immunoglobulin E (IgE), acting as an IgE receptor antagonist. By binding to free IgE, it prevents the interaction of IgE with its high-affinity receptor (FcεRI) on the surface of mast cells and basophils, thereby inhibiting the allergic inflammatory cascade. CT-P39 has demonstrated equivalent efficacy and safety to reference omalizumab in clinical trials for chronic spontaneous urticaria and other allergic conditions[1][2][3]. It is approved for use in asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), IgE-mediated food allergy, and chronic spontaneous urticaria[5].
