Overview

CT-P55 is a biosimilar of secukinumab, developed by Celltrion. It is a monoclonal antibody that acts as an interleukin-17A (IL-17A) inhibitor. The drug is designed to closely replicate the efficacy and safety profile of the reference product, Cosentyx (secukinumab), which was originally developed by Novartis. Secukinumab and its biosimilars are used primarily for the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as moderate to severe plaque psoriasis, ankylosing spondylitis, and psoriatic arthritis. By inhibiting IL-17A, CT-P55 blocks pro-inflammatory pathways involved in these immune-mediated disorders[1][2][3][4][5].
