Overview

CT-TIL-001 is an autologous tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy developed by CAR-T (Shanghai) Cell Biotechnology Co., Ltd. for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other solid tumors. The therapeutic process involves the isolation of naturally occurring T cells from a patient's own tumor tissue, followed by ex vivo expansion in the presence of interleukin-2 (IL-2) to generate a large population of tumor-reactive cells, typically reaching 10^9 to 10^10 cells. These expanded TILs, which possess a diverse repertoire of endogenous T-cell receptors (TCRs) capable of recognizing multiple tumor-specific antigens, are then re-infused into the patient. CT-TIL-001 is specifically being evaluated in clinical trials for patients with high-risk recurrent primary hepatocellular carcinoma following radical resection to prevent or treat recurrence by leveraging the patient's own immune system to target residual cancer cells.
