Overview

CT005 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by Shanghai Baize Medical Technology (Baize Bio) for the treatment of solid tumors. The therapy involves engineering a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric receptor designed to recognize and eliminate tumor cells. While CAR-T therapies have demonstrated significant efficacy in hematological malignancies, their application in solid tumors faces challenges such as the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and physical barriers to T-cell infiltration. CT005 is part of Baize's specialized pipeline targeting these difficult-to-treat malignancies. As of early 2024, the specific molecular target of CT005 remains undisclosed by the developer, and the program is in the preclinical stage of development.
