CT011 is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by CARsgen Therapeutics for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It specifically targets Glypican-3 (GPC3), an oncofetal protein that is highly expressed in more than 70% of HCC cases but absent in most healthy adult tissues. The therapy involves isolating a patient's T cells and genetically modifying them to express a GPC3-specific CAR, which allows the cells to selectively identify and eliminate GPC3-positive tumor cells. CT011 was the first CAR-T cell therapy for solid tumors to receive Investigational New Drug (IND) clearance from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in China. It is currently being studied in clinical trials both as a monotherapy and in combination with other agents, as well as an adjuvant treatment for patients at high risk of recurrence following surgical resection.
