CT109-CAR-T is a chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy being developed by Stromatis Pharma in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania. The therapy consists of autologous or allogeneic T cells engineered with a CAR targeting a unique glycoepitope shared by both CEACAM5 and CEACAM6. These targets are members of the carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule (CEACAM) family and are frequently upregulated in various epithelial cancers. CT109-CAR-T is designed to mediate direct, antigen-specific tumor cell killing. Preclinical studies, particularly in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) xenograft models, have demonstrated significant tumor regression and complete responses, supporting its potential as a treatment for PDAC and other epithelial malignancies.
