Overview

CT2000 is a non-opioid, selective NaV1.7 sodium channel inhibitor developed for the treatment of acute and chronic ocular pain. Originally developed by Channel Therapeutics and subsequently acquired by Pelthos Therapeutics, the drug is formulated as an eye drop. Preclinical studies in animal models of acute ocular insult (capsaicin-induced) and chronic dry eye disease (benzalkonium chloride-induced) have demonstrated significant reductions in pain surrogates, such as paw wipes. The compound aims to provide a non-addictive alternative for managing post-surgical eye pain and chronic ocular surface pain associated with conditions like dry eye disease.
