CT225 (also known as XKDCT225) is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by Guangdong Celconta Biotechnology. It utilizes the company's 2nd-CAR platform to target Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2), a tight junction protein that is highly expressed in several solid tumors, including gastric, esophageal, and gastroesophageal junction cancers, while showing restricted expression in normal tissues. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's T cells to express a CAR specific for CLDN18.2, enabling the immune system to selectively identify and eliminate tumor cells. CT225 is currently in Phase 1 clinical development, specifically undergoing dose-escalation exploratory trials for patients with CLDN18.2-positive advanced solid malignant tumors.
