CT38

CT38 is a proprietary 40-amino acid peptide drug developed as a modulator of the corticotropin-releasing factor receptor type 2 (CRF2 or CRHR2). It acts as an agonist at this receptor, which is involved in regulating the body's stress response and homeostasis. The drug was designed to target dysregulation of the CRF2 pathway, hypothesized to play a role in diseases such as myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). In clinical studies, including a phase 1/2 open-label trial (InTiME), subcutaneous infusions of CT38 were found to be safe and generally well-tolerated, with evidence for sustained symptom improvement in ME/CFS patients. The mechanism involves acute agonism at CRF2 receptors leading to downregulation and potential restoration of homeostatic balance. Development has also been reported for fibromyalgia, post-Lyme disease syndrome, post-acute COVID-19 syndrome ("Long COVID"), Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease[1][2][3][4][5][6].
