Overview

CT7-33 refers to a therapeutic agent or approach targeting the Cancer-Testis (CT) antigen **MAGE-C1**, also known as **CT7**. While the term is widely recognized in scientific literature as a specific monoclonal antibody clone (CT7-33) used for the immunohistochemical detection of MAGE-C1, its application in the context of cancer therapy involves the development of immunotherapies, such as peptide-based vaccines, designed to elicit a cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response against tumor cells. MAGE-C1 is a highly specific tumor antigen expressed in various malignancies, including pediatric melanoma and multiple myeloma, but is absent in normal adult tissues except for the testis. Therapeutic strategies utilizing CT7-33-related epitopes aim to stimulate the immune system to recognize and destroy MAGE-C1-expressing cells, making it a candidate for targeted cancer vaccines and T-cell therapies.
