CT801 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by Alpha Biopharma for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The therapy involves engineering a patient's autologous T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor that specifically targets Glypican-3 (GPC3), a cell-surface oncofetal antigen that is highly overexpressed in the majority of HCC cases but has minimal expression in normal adult tissues. By targeting GPC3, CT801 aims to direct the cytotoxic activity of T cells specifically against liver cancer cells, potentially overcoming the immunosuppressive microenvironment of solid tumors. It is currently in early-stage clinical development as part of Alpha Biopharma's oncology pipeline.
