Overview

CTAP-201 is an investigational injectable drug developed for the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). It acts as a parathyroid hormone (PTH) reducer, aiming to manage elevated PTH levels commonly seen in CKD and SHPT. The drug has undergone Phase I clinical trials in hemodialysis patients and is part of a portfolio targeting disorders related to altered vitamin D metabolism in CKD. CTAP-201 was originally developed by Cytochroma and later associated with OPKO Health.
