Overview

CTH is an investigational oral combination therapy developed by Nguyen Thi Trieu for the treatment of acute and chronic hepatitis B. The regimen integrates the nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor tenofovir disoproxil fumarate with three botanical extracts—*Phyllanthus urinaria*, *Adenosma glutinosum*, and *Eclipta prostrata*—and ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). CTH is designed to inhibit hepatitis B virus (HBV) replication by targeting the viral DNA polymerase while utilizing the herbal components for their purported immunomodulatory, antioxidant, and hepatoprotective properties. The combination has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to assess its efficacy in achieving long-term viral suppression and improving clinical outcomes in patients with HBV infection.
