CTH522 is an investigational recombinant protein-subunit vaccine developed by Statens Serum Institut to prevent *Chlamydia trachomatis* infection, including genital chlamydia and trachoma. The engineered antigen is based on *C. trachomatis* major outer membrane protein and incorporates heterologous variable-domain immunorepeats from genital serovars D, E, F, and G. It is intended to elicit MOMP-specific neutralizing antibodies and cellular immune responses; clinical formulations have included the CAF01 liposomal adjuvant, aluminum hydroxide, and CAF09b. CTH522 completed Phase I clinical testing in genital-chlamydia and trachoma-oriented studies, with reported acceptable safety and immunogenicity findings.
