CTP-730 is a deuterium-modified analog of apremilast, designed as a selective phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor. The incorporation of deuterium into the apremilast molecule aims to improve its pharmacokinetic properties and potentially offer once-daily dosing compared to the original drug. Developed by Concert Pharmaceuticals, CTP-730 was investigated as an anti-inflammatory agent and for potential use in cancer. Phase 1 clinical trials demonstrated that it achieved similar steady-state exposure with once-daily dosing compared to twice-daily dosing of standard apremilast. However, development for both inflammation and cancer indications has been discontinued[1][2][3][4].
