**CTP-miRNA** is a preclinical, cardiomyocyte-targeted RNA therapeutic consisting of Vivasc Therapeutics' cardiac targeting peptide linked through a reversible disulfide bond to microRNA-106a. The conjugate is designed to preferentially deliver miRNA106a to cardiomyocytes, where the RNA cargo suppresses pathological hypertrophy- and inflammation-associated gene expression, including phospholipase C beta 1 and calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II delta signaling. In cell and mouse heart-failure models, CTP-miRNA106a reduced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and improved cardiac functional measures; it is being developed for heart failure and cardiac hypertrophy.
