CTX-005

CTX-005 is a first-in-class topical gel medical device developed by Ceria Therapeutics for the prevention and management of early-stage pressure ulcers (also known as decubitus ulcers). Formulated for daily application to high-risk pressure points in bedridden or immobilized patients, CTX-005 functions as a mechanical and regenerative barrier. It works by improving skin strength, preserving tissue integrity, and suppressing inflammatory pathways that drive ulcer formation. Preclinical research indicates that the product increases skin collagen content, enhances structural integrity, and preserves skin thickness, outperforming standard-of-care barrier products. CTX-005 is being developed through the FDA's 510(k) regulatory pathway as a medical device rather than a traditional pharmaceutical drug or biologic.
